Domestic architecture played a central role in the identity of later prehistoric communities, particularly creating lasting bonds between living and dead. Acting as conduit memory legacy for successive generations inhabitants, roundhouses straddled divide house memorial. The exceptionally well preserved Late Iron Age settlement at Broxmouth southeast Scotland demonstrates potential biographical approaches understanding that fashioning households, objects constructing genealogical narratives.
